520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Primary hyperaldosteronism (PHA) is an emerging endocrine disorder in cats characterized by excessive and autonomous secretion of aldosterone by a unilateral or bilateral tumor or bilateral hyperplasia of the zona glomerulosa. Clinical signs are usually secondary to hypokalemia and/or arterial hypertension. In the absence of a confirmatory test, diagnosis is challenging. Diagnosis imaging is necessary to determine the optimal therapeutic strategy. Adrenalectomy represents the treatment of choice in cats with nonmetastatic unilateral adrenal mass.
