Rather than focusing on the destructuring, difficulties, and ethical suffering of forestry teams, Stéphane Le Lay and Ramuntcho Tellechea follow the example of a group managing more than fifty mountain forests. This group, which has managed to maintain collective operations, has been able to negotiate with its line management and local players to ensure that sorting operations are managed in a way that takes full account of the ecosystem conservation objectives.
