Through passive mobilization of the joints, the amplitude and quality of joint movement are assessed, making it possible to define facet, ligament and capsular, meniscus and disc, tendon and muscle disorders, as well as associated neural pain. The early signs revealed by the examination can make these techniques part of a preventive approach to morbid developments such as chondropathy, desmitis, tendinopathy and chronic neuropathy. Examination of the entire musculoskeletal system distinguishes focal disorders from symptomatic manifestations remote from an affected joint. In general, all the joint disorders diagnosed in animals explain the locomotor disorders observed. |

| Summary, etc. | La Médecine Manuelle Vétérinaire (MMV) apporte un complément aux méthodes diagnostiques classiques des affections de l’appareil locomoteur. Par des mobilisations passives des articulations, l’amplitude et la qualité du mouvement articulaire sont évaluées, permettant de définir des atteintes facettaires, ligamentaires et capsulaires, méniscales et discales, tendineuses et musculaires des articulations, ainsi que des douleurs neurales associées. La précocité des signes révélés par l’examen peut inscrire ces techniques dans une démarche préventive au regard des évolutions morbides que sont les chondropathies, les desmites, les tendinopathies et les neuropathies chroniques. L’examen de l’ensemble de l’appareil locomoteur discrimine les affections focales des manifestations symptomatiques distantes d’une articulation affectée. En général, l’ensemble des atteintes articulaires diagnostiquées chez l’animal explique les troubles locomoteurs observés. |
