| Summary, etc. | Jean-Marc Brunet décrit la présence de Bernard Noël à Laon et évoque en particulier la commande de la Ville : le livre d’artiste intitulé Le Livre des morts, qui allant de la peinture à l’écriture fait passer de l’invisible au visible. Les traces de l’écrivain sont importantes à Laon, notamment grâce à une donation de livres d’artistes et aux nombreux écrits du poète se référant à Laon. La salle d’exposition de la MAL à Laon est d’ailleurs baptisée « Espace Bernard Noël ». Les belles expositions et résidences d’artistes ou les lectures poétiques que Bernard Noël orienta sous l’égide de « L’Heur de Laon » remportèrent un grand succès pendant plus de trente ans, une dynamique artistique connue au-delà du département. Le Livre des morts, quarante-quatre pages sur vélin d’Arches 250 g., est un texte inédit sans ponctuation typographié sur vingt et un feuillets. Ce texte âpre où le temps fait son œuvre est accompagné de huit gravures, dont la page de couverture. Cet ouvrage, coédité par la Ville de Laon et Manière Noire, a été tiré à 57 exemplaires dont 53 numérotés. Une exposition à la MAL de Laon a marqué l’édition de ce livre. |

| Summary, etc. | Jean-Marc Brunet describes Bernard Noël’s presence in Laon, and talks in particular about the city’s commission for an artist’s book entitled Le Livre des morts (The Book of the Dead ), which shifts the focus from painting to writing, bringing the invisible into the visible. Noël’s legacy is strong in Laon, thanks in particular to a donation of artists’ books and the poet’s many writings about Laon. The exhibition room at the MAL in Laon has been given the name “Espace Bernard Noël”. The fine exhibitions, artists’ residencies and poetry readings that Bernard Noël organised under the aegis of “L’Heur de Laon” were a great success for over thirty years, creating an artistic dynamic that was known far beyond the department. Le Livre des morts , forty-four pages on 250g Arches vellum, is an unpublished text with no punctuation typed on twenty-one leaves. This harsh text, in which time takes its toll, is accompanied by eight engravings, including the cover page. This work, co-published by the City of Laon and Manière Noire, was printed in an edition of 57 copies, 53 of which were numbered. An exhibition at the MAL in Laon marked the publication of this book. |
