Summary, etc. Développer la formation qualifiante de jeunes en situation de handicap, tel est l’objectif que s’était fixé Grafic Bretagne, à la création de l’association en 1992. Depuis, 2 000 apprentis ont été accompagnés sur les quatre départements bretons et plus d’un jeune sur deux a obtenu un CAP complet. Mais qu’en est-il en termes d’insertion professionnelle ? Car ces jeunes, majoritairement déficients cognitifs issus d’IME, ou de Segpa (dans le cas d’un PPS), ont gagné en compétences, mais qu’en est-il des fragilités dans des environnements en constante évolution ? Deux stagiaires en master 2 à l’université ont mené une enquête sur le devenir de ces jeunes après leur contrat d’apprentissage. L’une a, sur l’ensemble de la région Bretagne enquêté, auprès de 250 apprentis issus d’IME et ayant terminé leur contrat entre 1998 et 2008 (moyenne d’âge 25 ans), l’autre auprès de 267 apprentis sur le département du Morbihan, toutes origines confondues (IME/Segpa) et sur la même période. Des parcours singuliers – pour des résultats étonnants – qui permettent de tordre le coup à beaucoup d’idées reçues.

Summary, etc. Develop qualifying training of young people in this situation of disability – this is the objective set by Grafic Bretagne when this association was founded in 1992. Since then 2000 apprentices have received support in the four départements of Brittany, and more than one out of two young persons has achieved a complete CAP (Certificat d’aptitude professionelle – a vocational certificate). But what have the results been in terms of professional insertion? Most of these young people have cognitive deficiencies, and they received their education in an IME (medical-educational institute), or a Segpa (adapted general and vocational teaching section) in the framework of a personalized schooling plan. These young persons have acquired skills, but what about their fragility in constantly changing environments? Two trainees in a Masters 2 University program conducted a survey about the history of these young people after their apprenticeship contract. One trainee did a study of 250 apprentices throughout Brittany who had come from medical-educational institutions and who had completed their contracts between 1998 and 2008 (average age – 25). The other trainee studied the history of 267 apprentices in the département of Morbihan who had come from different educational backgrounds (IME, Segpa) during the same period. The results showed that each apprentice followed a unique path. The results were surprising, and they contradicted many received ideas.
