Summary, etc. La question de la formation en lycée professionnel pose d’emblée la question de l’insertion en milieu ordinaire de travail, car celle-ci recouvre la finalité d’un parcours de scolarisation dans les dispositifs de droit commun. Cette proposition de formation doit donc intégrer fortement une dimension de projet professionnel personnel affirmé, concilier à la fois un parcours de formation commun à tous les élèves et une approche spécifique. Le travail avec les services médico-sociaux se centre alors sur ce passage à l’âge adulte, à la définition d’un projet de vie. Pour autant, quelle que soit la qualité du travail effectué, rares sont les jeunes adultes en capacité d’accéder directement au milieu de travail dès la sortie de l’UPI. Il faut donc porter notre attention sur les dispositifs d’accompagnement possible entre 18 et 25 ans et explorer les possibilités de modifier l’organisation du travail protégé, afin de créer de véritables tremplins vers l’emploi de droit commun pour les personnes en situation de handicap.

Summary, etc. The question of training in a vocational secondary school immediately raises the question of insertion in a mainstream work environment, as insertion represents the objective of schooling under the provisions of French law. This proposed training must therefore fully include a clearly stated personal vocational plan, and combine both a common training program for all pupils with a specific approach. Work with medical-social services then focuses on this transition to adulthood, to the definition of a life plan. But whatever the quality of the work accomplished, very few young adults are able to enter the work world straight away on leaving a UPI (Unité pédagogique d’intégration – pedagogical integration unit). Attention must thus be focused on possible support systems for persons between 18 and 25, and options must be explored to change the organization of sheltered jobs so as to create true springboards for legally stipulated employment for persons in a situation of disability.
