Summary, etc. | Ce texte est issu de la transcription de la conférence intitulée «?Quelle parole face à la violence1», donnée par l’auteur le 21?janvier 2009 à l’IUFM de Créteil dans le cadre des Mercredis de Créteil. Son objet est de penser pédagogiquement le phénomène de la violence dans l’école et les réponses possibles à lui apporter. Après une réflexion introductive sur ce que c’est que parler suit l’esquisse d’une analyse pédagogique des violences scolaires dans leur diversité et dans leurs causes, articulée à l’idée que les violences scellent la faillite de la parole. Sont ensuite dégagées quelques pistes pour vivre et apprendre ensemble, en dépit de la violence. Enfin, dans une troisième série de remarques, sont évoquées quelques perspectives dans le but de reprendre la parole pour combattre la violence. |

Summary, etc. | This text is based on the transcription of a lecture entitled “How Can Words Deal with Violence ?”delivered by the author on January 21, 2009 at the IUFM (teacher training center) of Créteil, a suburb of Paris, as part of the Mercredis de Créteil program of lectures. The author’s purpose is to examine, from a pedagogical point of view, violence in schools and possible responses to it. Introductory thoughts on what it means to speak are followed by the outline of a pedagogical analysis of violence in schools in all its diversity as well as its causes. He relates his analysis to the idea that violence attests the failure of words. The author then puts forward several ways in which it is possible to live and learn together despite violence. Lastly, he mentions several approaches aimed at recovering speech to fight against violence. |
