Summary, etc. | Ouvrir le travail social aux professionnels sourds est le titre d’une recherche menée par l’EFPP – École de formation psycho pédagogique – de 2008 à 2010 auprès des professionnels, éducateurs spécialisés et employeurs entendants, malentendants, en situation d’emploi 3. Cette recherche avait pour but d’analyser les effets de la formation d’éducateurs spécialisés sourds, menée par cette école depuis trente ans, et notamment l’impact de cette formation sur leur emploi. Elle a permis l’examen des possibilités et des limites de l’évolution professionnelle des éducateurs sourds à partir de leurs propres témoignages. Elle a ainsi mis en lumière, à partir d’une enquête adressée aux employeurs portant notamment sur les contextes de travail et les conditions d’employabilité, des phénomènes spécifiques de persistance de facteurs discriminants dans le cadre de l’emploi dans le secteur sanitaire et social, que nous assimilons ici au concept de plafond de verre. Une telle recherche permet également d’esquisser les perspectives d’ouverture en termes de carrière et d’autres formations (ou d’autres niveaux de qualification), dans le champ social pour des professionnels sourds. |

Summary, etc. | Opening up social work to deaf professionals is the title of a study carried out by the EFPP (École de Formation Psycho Pédagogique – School of Psycho-Pedagogical Training) from 2008 to 2010. It is a survey of professionals, non-hearing impaired as well as hearing impaired specialized educators and employers in a job situation. The purpose of the survey was to analyze the effects of the training of deaf specialized educators. It has been carried out by this school for 30 years, in particular the impact of this training on their employment. It made it possible to examine the possibilities and limits of the professional development of deaf educators on the basis of their own experience. It thus revealed specific phenomena of persistence of factors of discrimination in employment in the health and social sector, which we will include here in the concept of glass ceiling. A study of this type also enables us to outline prospects for opening up careers and other training programs (or other skill levels) for deaf professionals in the social realm. |
