Summary, etc. | Cette recherche s’appuie sur une enquête ethnographique menée dans deux établissements, un collège et un lycée professionnel, disposant l’un et l’autre d’une Unité localisée pour l’inclusion scolaire (Ulis) destinée à la scolarisation d’adolescents et jeunes adultes désignés handicapés mentaux. À travers le point d’observation privilégié que représentent ces deux dispositifs, il s’est agi d’ouvrir une réflexion sur les tensions et les dynamiques paradoxales qui sous-tendent le processus d’inclusion scolaire en train de se faire. Dans un contexte dominé par l’attribution des places, nous verrons comment des pratiques qualifiées d’inclusion différenciée se sont substituées au processus d’inclusion scolaire pensé au départ comme inconditionnel par le législateur. |

Summary, etc. | This paper aims at analyzing a year of clinical analysis of professional practice in a large French medico-social institution when the latter, following European and national directives, decided to implement a deinstitutionalization project. After having constructed the concept of deinstitutionalization through a socio-historical approach, the article deploys a psychoanalytically oriented clinical methodology to analyze how the professionals of the institution in question experience and fantasize about the otherness of the disabled persons for whom they are responsible. It appears that the encounter with this otherness can be understood through the Freudian concept of the uncanny ( Unheimliche) and that the professionals are torn between adherence to the values of deinstitutionalization and a negative phantasmatization of the otherness of the disability. |
