| Summary, etc. | La prison est une institution sociale dont le fonctionnement et les structures reflètent, d’une part, les valeurs sociales et culturelles dominantes de la société dans laquelle elle se trouve, et, d’autre part, les changements de ces valeurs. La place de l’enseignement dans la prison, qu’elle soit donnée, concédée ou acquise, va de même, à son niveau, refléter ces mêmes valeurs. Dans cette perspective, l’approche socio-historique de l’évolution de l’enseignement en prison va être proposée sous la forme de quelques éclairages. Ceux-ci ont été choisis de façon à tenter de mieux comprendre la réalité et les enjeux contemporains de cet enseignement. Parmi ceux-ci, la place et le rôle des enseignants, la prise en charge des mineurs, l’articulation enseignement/travail, la coopération Éducation nationale/Justice, feront l’objet d’une attention particulière. |

From this perspective, this is your historical approach to the evolution of teaching in prisons will be proposed in the form of several clarifications. These clarifications have been chosen so as to seek to better understand the reality and contemporary challenges of this teaching. Among these challenges are: the position and role of teachers, working with minors, the coordination between teaching and work, cooperation between educational and judicial authorities.
