Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Our schools are now facing their greatest challenge: how to provide education to autistic children with mental deficiencies. Although the inclusion in school of children who are called “different” is enshrined in French law, the situation of children with invasive developmental difficulties is far from satisfactory. Those children with such difficulties who are schooled with other “normal” children offer many challenges to the educational system and to teachers. Teachers must adjust the content of the material they teach, revise their pedagogy, and combine personalization and inclusion without engaging in discrimination. The autistic child is a pupil among others, with his own needs and specific way of functioning. He must learn, and we must teach him everything. |
