| Summary, etc. | L’article examine les difficultés d’accès à l’emploi en milieu protégé ou ordinaire pour des sujets en situation de handicap avéré, ou confrontés à des freins de type socio-culturel. L’accès à l’emploi procède toujours d’une sélection, un recrutement ou une procédure d’admission, c’est-à-dire d’un filtre qui délivre ou non une autorisation à occuper l’emploi. Le regard de l’autre, à partir des critères qui le construisent, est nécessairement un facteur à considérer sur le chemin vers l’emploi. Après avoir discuté [1] la confusion souvent opérée entre travail et emploi, [2] puis montré la complexité d’une situation d’emploi au regard des statuts qu’elle impose au sujet, l’auteur conclut sur [3] le caractère surdéterminant du regard des employeurs dans le processus d’insertion en milieu ordinaire de travail de personnes en situation de handicap. Les deux derniers points sont appuyés sur deux recherches-action conduites par l’auteur : la mise en place d’un protocole d’évaluation de la production sociale des Esat [méthode Peps] et d’un Protocole d’évaluation des compétences et aptitudes professionnelles [Précap] pour des sujets en situation de handicap. |

| Summary, etc. | This article examines the difficulties in access to employment in a protected or mainstream environment for subjects in a situation of proven disability, or confronted with socio-cultural obstacles. Access to employment always proceeds from a selection, recruitment or an admissions procedure, in other words a screening process which provides or does not provide permission to have a job. The perception of others, based on the criteria determining that perception, is necessarily a factor to be considered on the path to employment. After discussing (1) the confusion often made between work and employment, (2) and then showing the complexity of a job situation in terms of the statuses that it imposes on the subject, the author concludes on (3) the overdetermining character of the perception of employers in the integration process of persons in a situation of disability in a mainstream environment. The latter two points are stressed in two research-actions conducted by the author: creating an assessment protocol for the social production of institutions and services of help through work (Esat Établissement et Service d’Aide par le Travail) with the FIFO method; and an assessment protocol for professional skills and aptitudes (before the CAP Certificat d’Aptitude Professionnelle) for subjects in a situation of disability. |
