| Summary, etc. | RésuméLa question de l’accompagnement des personnes âgées en France constitue aujourd’hui un enjeu majeur. La relation d’aide qui se construit à domicile ou en institution entre professionnels (aide à domicile, aide-soignant ou infirmier) et personnes âgées dépendantes témoigne de certaines spécificités à travailler avec un public âgé stigmatisé. Située à l’interface du sanitaire et du social, cette relation d’aide en gérontologie oscille entre différents pôles de référence : entre contrat salarial et don, entre professionnalisation et familiarisation, suppléance et assistance... Les professionnels de l’aide, qu’ils travaillent à domicile ou en institution, se réfèrent à différents univers de sens qui s’opposent plus qu’ils ne se complètent. Ainsi, à partir d’un travail de recherche sur la relation d’aide à domicile et sur une pratique d’intervention psychologique en établissements d’accueil pour personnes âgées, ce texte souhaite donner une visibilité à une relation d’aide mal définie, en quête de sens par manque de collectifs de travail. |

| Summary, etc. | Nowadays, support to the elderly has become a major stake in France. The helping relationships which develop in households or institutions between professionals – home aids, assistant nurses and nurses – and elderly dependants show how specific it is to work with stigmatised elderly people. Standing between health care and social help, helping relationships in gerontology oscillate between different points of reference : social contracts and donations, professionalization and familiarization, domestic services and family care... Help professionals, whether they work in households or institutions, refer to various points of view, opposing rather than complementing one another. Therefore, relying both on research on helping relationships in households and on field research in facilities for the elderly, the aim of this article is to focus on and highlight the ambiguity of the helping relationships due to a lack of team work. |
