Summary, etc. | En France, la scolarisation des enfants déficients visuels se déroule aujourd’hui très majoritairement en milieu ordinaire. Le milieu spécialisé n’a pas disparu, mais il connaît des transformations profondes, notamment l’évolution du profil des élèves qui ont souvent des handicaps plus lourds que par le passé et des difficultés autres que la déficience visuelle. Au Japon, où l’orientation en école spécialisée demeure encore la situation la plus courante dans le cas du handicap visuel, les transformations du milieu spécialisé sont analysées et encadrées de manière plus soutenue qu’en France. Cet article vise à comparer les situations observées dans les deux pays afin d’explorer une question peu traitée dans la littérature sur l’éducation inclusive : comment le milieu spécialisé se reconfigure-t-il en parallèle du passage à l’inclusion ? |

Summary, etc. | In France, most of the visually impaired children are now enrolled in mainstream schools. Special schools have not disappeared, but they undergo deep transformations, especially an increasing number of students with multi-disabilities or difficulties unrelated to visual disability. In Japan, where enrollment in special schools remains the most common situation in the case of visual impairment, the evolution of special schools is highly monitored. This paper aims at comparing the situations observed in both countries so as to explore an issue to which little attention is being paid in the literature on inclusive education: how do special schools evolve in parallel to the shift towards inclusion? |
