| Summary, etc. | Les écrits autobiographiques de S. Hawking, J.-D. Bauby, A. Jollien et J. Sémelin – quatre écrivains connus pour leurs recherches scientifiques ou leurs travaux littéraires, dont l’expérience de vie s’inscrit dans le champ des situations de handicap ou de dépendance, sont examinés en cherchant à faire apparaître les conditions matérielles, psychologiques et relationnelles de leur production. S’inscrivant en faux contre la figure héroïque de la personne handicapée puisant dans son génie toutes les ressources d’une création scientifique ou littéraire hors du commun, l’article montre que le processus de production de l’œuvre, tant dans sa conception que dans la matérialité de son écriture, passe par une variété d’opérations mentales très intriquées avec des opérations concrètes visant à exprimer et déposer des informations sur divers supports. Ces processus nécessitent tout un réseau relationnel faute duquel le passage de la motivation à la réalisation de l’écriture serait voué à l’échec. L’analyse conduit à considérer l’acte d’écrire en situation extrême comme un révélateur de fonctionnements caractéristiques de toute construction scientifique médiatisée. |

| Summary, etc. | The autobiographical writings of S. Hawking, J.-D. Bauby, A. Jollien et J. Sémelin - four writersknown for their scientific research or literary works, whose life experience included situations of disability or dependence - are examined in this article, which focues on the material, psychological, and relational conditions of their literary activity. The author opposes the heroic image of the disabled person who draws from his own genius all the resources of exceptional literary or scientific creation. On the contrary, he shows that the process of the production of these works, both in terms of their conception and physical writing, requires a variety of specific operations aimed at expressing and recording information on different media. The processes of production necessitate a whole relational network, without which the transition from motivation to actual writing would be doomed to failure. The analysis presented in this article leads to a vision of the act of writing in extreme situations as an indicator of the processes characteristic of any mediated scientific creation. |
