520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. This paper deals with the discourse of twelve hearing parents who chose bilingual education (French Sign Language-French) for their deaf children and who tell their family experience. Their current speeches were collected by psycho-sociological qualitative field survey (interviews). The parents evoke: learning LSF; good communication with their child and with the deaf, got by adapted strategies associated with efforts, pleasures and reciprocal helps; mutual enrichments of both languages. Their discourse focused on the theme of the encounter (“ mix” thinking) questions an expert discourse focused on the theme of the separation: insistence on the natural and inevitable conflicts between hearing people and the deaf ( a fortiori, between hearing parents and deaf children), between FSL and French, “ too much different” each others (essentialist and determinist “ clash of cultures and clash of languages” thinking). This research analyzing the confrontation, the articulation and the links between the discourses shows that every knowledge and practice relating to the handicap needs a real collaboration between witness and experts.
