Summary, etc. Introduction Modern orthodontics is undergoing a revolution with the advent of 3D imaging, offering unprecedented perspectives for the evaluation and treatment of facial asymmetries. These asymmetries, whether mandibular, maxillary, or dental, require a deeper understanding of their causes and their aesthetic and functional impact. Additionally, associated functional imbalances must be addressed for comprehensive management. Traditional diagnostic methods, such as 2D radiographs and plaster models, have significant limitations, now overcome by the use of 3D technologies (intraoral scanners, Cone Beam Computed Tomography, photogrammetry). Objective This article aims to demonstrate how these technologies enhance the understanding and precise management of craniofacial anomalies. Material and Methods The clinical case presented involves a 28-year-old female. The results obtained using 3D imaging are compared with traditional methods and initial simulations, highlighting their advantages. Discussion 3D imaging opens promising perspectives in orthodontics, particularly in personalized treatments and innovative approaches such as mandibular kinetics (transition to 4D). Moreover, the increasing integration of artificial intelligence into diagnostic and treatment planning tools adds further value, streamlining decision-making and improving clinical efficiency. Conclusion 3D imaging represents a turning point in the evaluation and treatment of facial asymmetries. By providing a clearer and more detailed view of anatomical structures, it allows orthodontists to design more precise and personalized treatment plans. These advancements lead to optimized clinical outcomes and improved patient compliance.

Summary, etc. Introduction L’orthodontie moderne est en pleine révolution grâce à l’avènement de l’imagerie 3D, qui offre des perspectives inédites pour l’évaluation et le traitement des dissymétries faciales. Ces dissymétries, qu’elles soient mandibulaires, maxillaires ou dentaires, nécessitent une meilleure compréhension de leurs causes, ainsi que de leur impact esthétique et fonctionnel. Par ailleurs, les déséquilibres fonctionnels associés doivent être pris en compte pour une prise en charge globale. Les méthodes de diagnostic traditionnelles, comme les radiographies 2D et les moulages en plâtre, présentent des limites importantes, désormais surmontées par l’usage des technologies 3D (scanner intrabuccal, cone beam computed tomography, photogrammétrie). Objectif Cet article vise à démontrer comment ces technologies permettent une compréhension accrue et une prise en charge plus précise des anomalies cranio-faciales. Matériel et méthodes Le cas clinique étudié concerne une femme de 28 ans. Les résultats obtenus à l’aide de l’imagerie 3D sont comparés avec les méthodes traditionnelles et les simulations initiales, permettant de mettre en évidence leurs avantages. Discussion L’imagerie 3D ouvre des perspectives prometteuses dans le domaine de l’orthodontie, notamment en ce qui concerne les traitements personnalisés et les approches innovantes comme la cinétique mandibulaire (passage à la 4D). Par ailleurs, l’intégration croissante de l’intelligence artificielle dans les outils de diagnostic et de planification constitue un atout supplémentaire, facilitant les prises de décision et améliorant l’efficacité clinique. Conclusion L’imagerie 3D marque un tournant dans l’évaluation et le traitement des dissymétries faciales. En offrant une vision plus claire et détaillée des structures anatomiques, elle permet aux orthodontistes de concevoir des plans de traitement plus précis et personnalisés. Ces avancées se traduisent par des résultats cliniques optimisés et une meilleure adhésion des patients.
