| Summary, etc. | Olivier Bramanti et Yvan Alagbé ont publié leur album Qui a connu le feu en 2004 chez Frémok, un éditeur belge et français de bandes dessinées expérimentales. Les artistes y retravaillent d’une manière dialogique des images coloniales françaises du xixe siècle et des célèbres poèmes portugais des xvie et xxe siècles. Le personnage principal du livre est le roi Béhanzin d’Abomey, vaincu et exilé par les Français à la fin du xixe siècle. L’album, qu’on pourrait classer comme un poème graphique, invite le lecteur à réfléchir sur l’importance du colonialisme pour la société contemporaine, ainsi que dans la bande dessinée, depuis les images d’Épinal jusqu’à nos jours. |

| Summary, etc. | Olivier Bramanti and Yvan Alagbé published their album Who Has Known Fire in 2004 with Frémok, a Belgian and French publisher of experimental comics. The artists therein rework, in a dialogical manner, French colonial images from the 19th century and well-known Portuguese poems from the XVIth and XXth centuries. The main character of the book is King Behanzin, defeated and exiled by the French at the end of the XIXth century. The album, which one could classify as a graphic poem, invites the reader to reflect on the importance of colonialism for contemporary society, as well as in comics, from Épinal images up to the present day. |
