| Summary, etc. | Administré comme une colonie en dépit du statut de territoire international dont il bénéficie, le Cameroun est concerné par la réorganisation de l’ordre impérial français au lendemain de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Cette période est caractérisée par des débats vifs, entre les autorités coloniales françaises et les élites sociales et politiques colonisées, quant aux contours à donner aux réformes sociales et politiques à mettre en œuvre. Dans ce contexte, une attention particulière est portée à la notion de citoyenneté et au contenu qu’on lui donne. Les discussions s’organisent autour de deux pôles, d’un côté ceux qui souhaitent préserver les intérêts des classes dominantes et, ce faisant, maintenir une logique impériale, de l’autre celles et ceux qui luttent pour faire émerger une société inclusive, débarrassée des logiques coloniales. |

| Summary, etc. | Governed as a colony, despite its status as an international territory, Cameroon was affected by the reorganization of the French imperial order in the post-WWII era. This period was characterized by heated discussions between the French colonial authorities and the colonized social and political elites, regarding the outlines of the social and political reforms to be implemented. In this respect, much attention was drawn to the notion of citizenship as well as to its contents. The debates highlighted two options those who sought to preserve the interests of the ruling classes, upholding an imperial perspective and those who were struggling to achieve an inclusive society, free from colonial practices. |
