Summary, etc. | Cet article analyse les formes de l’emprise dans un établissement d’un groupe automobile italo-américain. À partir d’une démarche d’enquête monographique (travail documentaire sur la période 1993-2014, exploitation de matériaux de seconde main de type empirique et entretiens semi-directifs auprès de salariés), il montre les ressorts sur les collectifs de travail d’un système de métrique des temps appelé Ergo -uas (Ergonomie- Universal Analysing System). Ce système qui permet une amélioration à la fois de la productivité et des conditions de travail a des implications sur la santé physique et psychologique des salariés à partir du moment où il leur est demandé une implication plus importante, aussi de type cognitif, dans l’accomplissement de leurs tâches. Plus l’activité de travail demande de l’autonomie et de l’initiative ouvrière en sollicitant pour cela la subjectivité des travailleurs, plus ces derniers expérimentent des situations paradoxales dans l’exécution concrète de leur travail. |

Summary, etc. | This article analyzes the forms of control in an Italian-American automotive manufacturer. Based on a monographic survey approach (documentary work over the period 1993–2014, use of second-hand empirical materials, and semi-structured interviews with employees), the authors show the effects of a time-measurement system called Ergo- uas (Ergonomics-Universal Analyzing System) on work collectives. This system, which enables an improvement in both productivity and working conditions, has implications for the physical and psychological health of employees from the moment they are asked to become more involved, as well as cognitive effects, in the performance of their tasks. The more that work demands autonomy and initiative, and thus the subjectivity of the workers, the more they experience paradoxical situations in the practical execution of their work. |
