| Summary, etc. | Revue française d’histoire d’Outre-mer, qui avait été depuis sa fondation en 1913 une expression universitaire du « Parti colonial », est devenue à partir de 1965 une revue historique à part entière. Après avoir décidé, en décembre 1964, de réintégrer l’histoire contemporaine de l’Afrique du Nord dans son champ d’étude, la SFHOM a réalisé l’intégration de la guerre d’Algérie en deux étapes nettement distinctes : sans délai dans le cas des comptes rendus de lecture (avec une brève étape intermédiaire de bilans historiographiques), mais avec une longue phase d’hésitation qui n’a pris fin qu’à partir de 1996 pour les articles de fond. C’est alors que la publication d’articles de recherche novateurs sur la guerre d’Algérie est devenue une constante jusqu’à nos jours. |

| Summary, etc. | The “Revue française d’histoire d’Outre-mer”, which had been since its foundation in 1913 an academic expression of the “Colonial Party”, became from 1965 a historical journal in its own right. After having decided, in December 1964, to reintegrate the contemporary history of North Africa into its field of study, the SFHOM carried out the integration of the Algerian war in two clearly distinct stages: without delay in the the case of book reviews (with a brief intermediate stage of historiographical reviews), but with a long phase of hesitation which only ended in 1996 for feature articles. It was then that the publication of innovative research articles on the Algerian war became a constant until today. |
