| Summary, etc. | This work aims to address one of the most violent stages of “pacification” in colonial Morocco, of which the battle of Bougafer that took place between February 11 and March 25, 1933 was its symbolic epicenter. The Ayt Atta fighters, during one and a half months of fierce combat in a rugged terrain, fiercely defended their positions against the troops of Generals Huré, Catroux, and Giraud who surrounded them in order to subdue them. On the basis of collected data from archives, printed sources, and oral tradition, we have tried to accurately portray the historical context of this event following an analytical framework that aims to reveal information on the preparations and progress of the battle, as well as the conditions under which the peace agreement between the protectorate and the Ayt Atta was signed. |

| Summary, etc. | Ce travail se propose d’aborder l’un des épisodes les plus violents de la « pacification » dans le Maroc colonial, dont la bataille de Bougafer est l’épicentre symbolique, entre le 11 février et le 25 mars 1933. Un mois et demi de combats acharnés, dans un espace accidenté, durant lesquels les combattants des Ayt Atta défendaient farouchement leurs positions face aux troupes des généraux Huré, Catroux et Giraud qui les encerclaient pour les soumettre. À travers les données collectées dans les archives, les sources imprimées et la tradition orale, nous avons tenté de restituer, autant que faire se peut, le contexte historique de cet événement suivant un schéma analytique tendant à faire apparaître les éléments renseignant, d’un côté, sur les préparations et le déroulement de la bataille et, d’un autre côté, sur les conditions dans lesquelles est scellé l’accord de paix entre le protectorat et les Ayt Atta. |
