| Summary, etc. | Le militantisme des femmes sahraouies est hypervisible dans les représentations dominantes d’un nationalisme révolutionnaire sahraoui. Enchevêtré dans un politique de visibilité vis-à-vis des audiences globales qui s’appuie sur le corps féminin pour produire des discours sur la nation sahraouie, cet article soutient que cette hypervisibilité est principalement obtenue à travers les représentations d’un modèle moderniste sahraoui d’autonomisation des femmes qui promeut la participation des femmes dans les espaces publics et le sacrifice de soi dans les domaines de la vie privée . Au-delà de ce modèle dominant d’autonomisation des femmes, je décris des expressions moins visibles du militantisme féminin sahraoui—qui s’articulent autour de la politique du mariage et de la formation des ménages—pour souligner la valeur politique que le travail régénérateur des femmes sahraouies apporte à leur mouvement anticolonial. |

| Summary, etc. | Sahrawi women’s militancy is hypervisible in dominant representations of a Sahrawi Revolutionary Nationalism. Enmeshed in a politics of visibility vis-à-vis global audiences that relies upon the female body to produce larger discourses about the Sahrawi nation, this article argues that this hypervisibility is mostly obtained through representations of a Sahrawi modernist model of female empowerment which promotes women’s participation in public spaces and self-sacrifice in private domains of life. Looking beyond this dominant model of female empowerment, I describe less visible expressions of Sahrawi female militancy—which pivots around the politics of marriage and household formation—to highlight the political value that Sahrawi women’s regenerative labor contributes to their anti-colonial movement. |
