| Summary, etc. | La question du sens littéral est aujourd’hui fort nébuleuse : est-ce le sens voulu par les auteurs ? Le sens lié au contexte historique ? Le sens donné par la structure du texte lui-même ou par sa canonicité ? Autant de points de vue liés à différents parti-pris herméneutiques. Cet article s’attache à retrouver tout d’abord le sens littéral au plus près de son origine théologique dans la tradition de l’exégèse spirituelle. Il en suit l’altération progressive avec le développement de l’herméneutique moderne. Il cherche enfin à montrer comment l’apport de la phénoménologie de la vie à une philosophie du langage et la prise en compte du lien entre parole et sensibilité permettent de redonner consistance au sens littéral et ainsi de puiser à nouveau aux sources de l’intelligence spirituelle des Écritures. |

| Summary, etc. | What is the literal meaning?The question of the literal meaning is very nebulous today: is it the meaning intended by the authors ? Or is it the meaning attached to the historical context ? Or is it the meaning given by the structure of the text itself or by its canonicity ? There are just as many points of view tied to different hermeneutical positions. This article sticks with discovering first and foremost the literal meaning closest to its theological origin in the tradition of spiritual exegesis. There follows from this the progressive divergence from the development of modern hermeneutics. Finally the article tries to show how the contribution of the phenomenology of life to a philosophy of language and taking into account the connection between word and feeling, allow us to restore consistency to the literal meaning and so to draw anew from the spiritual understanding of the Scriptures. |
