Summary, etc. |

Summary, etc. | Suffering in politics. Royalist women and Jesuits in the times of the Republic (1880-1914)The vote of the Law on Associations in 1901, intended to fight against congregations, angered thousands of catholic women in France in the form of petitions and women’s leagues. The one which was founded in 1901 in Lyon, of monarchic sensibility, is the work of two women, Jeanne Lestra and Countess de Saint-Laurent, guided by a Jesuit, Antonin Eymieu. From this example from the world of « white » political culture, we consider the mechanisms of political commitment to address the suffering of individual or collective. |
