Chaque mode de gestion exprime une appréhension particulière du travail et de la mobilisation des salariés. La généalogie de l’injonction patronale à la participation met en évidence comment la marchandisation-subordination du travail ne cesse de se heurter à une part irréductible d’autonomie que les salariés conservent de façon à la fois nécessaire (à la production) et revendiquée. |

Summary, etc. | From Taylor to neo-liberal management : what form of worker participation ?From Taylor to neo-liberal management, the employers have experienced a variety of worker participation forms. Four main patterns, successively industrial, managerial, democratic and financial, can be distinguished. Each approach expresses a peculiar view of work and worker participation. The genealogy of the employers’ participation injunction shows how the commodification and subordination of work never eradicates an irreducible part of autonomy the employees keep altogether for the needs of production and as part of a workers’ demand. |
