| Summary, etc. | L’article propose une approche ethnographique d’une conférence de citoyens tenue en novembre 2009 sur les nouveaux indicateurs de richesse, commandée par le Conseil régional du Nord-Pas-de-Calais. Il montre que ce qui se joue dans ce type de dispositifs ne peut s’appréhender au prisme exclusif de la délibération qui fonde pourtant leur légitimité. Ce qui est en jeu dans le jury considéré, c’est moins la délibération que les stratégies de préservation de la « face » des participants, la constitution du groupe et les logiques de sociabilité, les inégalités de participation et les effets de cadrage de l’équipe d’animation. |

| Summary, etc. | The untraceable deliberationThe article deals with an ethnographic approach of a citizens jury held in November 2009 about the new indicators of wealth and ordered by regional council of Nord Pas de Calais. It shows that what is at stake in that kind of procedure cannot be analyzed through the exclusive focus of the deliberative theory. What matters in the case we considered is less deliberation than the constitution of the group, the sociability, the inequalities and the effects of the organizers’ framing. |
