| Summary, etc. | Certains mouvements sociaux constituent des événements politiques. C’est le cas lorsque, en raison de leurs répertoires d’action et/ou de la conjoncture dans laquelle ils prennent place, ils sont perçus par les parties prenantes comme de véritables « ruptures » dans leur parcours de politisation et, plus globalement, dans leur trajectoire biographique. Les « mouvements des places » qui ont surgi après la crise des subprimes sont, de ce point de vue, absolument exemplaires. L’occupation des places est devenue une utopie collective – ou une « hétérotopie » pour reprendre le terme de Foucault –, à l’issue de laquelle les individus sont sortis radicalement transformés. C’est ce que montre cet article à l’aide d’une double enquête longitudinale, par récits de vie et entretiens semi-directifs, sur les personnes ayant participé à Nuit debout (Paris). Il cherche à élucider les raisons structurelles et contextuelles en vertu desquelles la perception d’avoir vécu une « utopie en actes » a pu être partagée par des individus aux socialisations politiques et militantes différentes. |

| Summary, etc. | Some social movements are political events. This is the case when, because of their repertoires of action and/or the context in which they take place, they are perceived by their actors as real breakthroughs in their politicization process and, more generally, in their biographical trajectory. The “square movements” that arose after the subprime crisis are, from this point of view, absolutely typical. The occupation of the squares became a collective utopia —or a “heterotopia” to use Foucault’s term— at the end of which the individuals left radically transformed. This is the hypothesis that this article tests with the help of a double longitudinal survey of participants in Nuit debout (Paris), using life stories and semi-structured interviews. It seeks to elucidate the structural and contextual reasons behind why the perception of having experienced a “utopia in action” was shared by individuals with different political and activist socializations. |
