| Summary, etc. | Depuis la mise en place de la technologie 3G et le développement des Smartphones en 2010, Orange est devenu le premier opérateur de la musique au Mali, jusqu’à imposer sa propre politique culturelle face à un État largement absent dans ce domaine et à un secteur privé peu professionnalisé. Marque commerciale du groupe Sonatel depuis 2006, leader dans la téléphonie en Afrique de l’ouest, et très implanté au Maghreb et en Afrique anglophone, ce qui lui permet d’avoir un réseau pan-africain extrêmement efficace, Orange est aussi actionnaire de l’entreprise de streaming musical Deezer et propriétaire de la plateforme vidéo DailyMotion. Dans ce texte, on s’attachera à montrer comment l’opérateur téléphonique s’affirme de plus en plus dans le secteur de la production, de la promotion, de la distribution et de la diffusion de musiques destinées à un public spécifiquement africain, mais constitue aussi une entreprise privée structurante pour l’économie malienne, à travers le développement technologique, le poids de son chiffre d’affaires, les emplois directs et indirects, la formation professionnelle et jusqu’au management qui influence aujourd’hui l’administration de l’État. |

| Summary, etc. | Since the implementation of the 3G technology and the development of Smartphones in 2010, Orange has become the first operator of the music in Mali, until imposing its own culture policy within a widely absent State in this domain and a little professionalized private sector. Orange is a trademark of the Sonatel group since 2006, leader in the telephony in Western Africa, and well-established in the Maghreb and in English-speaking Africa, what allows him to have an extremely effective Pan-African network. Orange is also a shareholder of the Deezer musical streaming company and owner of the DailyMotion video platform.
