520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. The study opens with Isaac Ray’s remarks about the clinical clarity of Shakespeare’s studies of madness. The influence of Dr Bright on Shakespeare is outlined; that is to say that Hamlet’s character was influenced by clinical melancholia as seen in 1586. Freud was perhaps concerned about the influence of Shakespeare on his work and was interested in the “Looney” theory. Several writers - J. Freire, B. Sichère and others argue that Shakespeare was almost Freud’s Other.
