| Summary, etc. | La question de départ de cette étude reprend en substance la question posée en des termes similaires par l’ Instrumentum laboris de juin 2023 rédigé en vue de l’Assemblée synodale d’octobre 2023. Curieusement le Rapport de synthèse de celle-ci n’y a pas apporté de réponse explicite. Pourtant sur le terrain, cette question est au cœur des préoccupations, sinon des difficultés qui tourmentent les pasteurs en même temps qu’elle reflète les attentes, sinon les revendications de fidèles exaspérés par la fonction consultative des Conseils d’Église. L’A. met en avant une compréhension symbolique et pneumatologique du corps ecclésial pour montrer le caractère problématique du « seulement consultatif », tantum consultivum. Les procédures décisionnelles doivent en effet articuler l’autorité pastorale et la communauté ecclésiale qui lui est confiée, la liberté de la première ne pouvant jamais faire fi de la synodalité intrinsèque de la seconde. L’exégèse du canon 127 § 2, 2° peut cependant ouvrir des perspectives d’évolution ecclésiologiquement plus cohérentes en assumant la distinction entre l’élaboration et la prise de décision, entre le decision-making et le decision-taking. |

| Summary, etc. | The initial question of this study is essentially the same as that posed in similar terms by the Instrumentum laboris in June 2023, drawn up in preparation for the Synodal Assembly of October 2023. Curiously, the Synodal Assembly’s Summary Report did not provide an explicit response to this question. Yet on the ground, this question is at the heart of the concerns, if not the difficulties, that torment pastors at the same time as it reflects the expectations, if not the demands, of the faithful exasperated by the consultative function of Church Councils. The A. puts forward a symbolic and pneumatological understanding of the ecclesial body to show the problematic nature of the « consultative only », tantum consultivum. Decision-making procedures must articulate the pastoral authority and the ecclesial community entrusted to it, since the freedom of the former can never disregard the intrinsic synodality of the latter. The exegesis of canon 127 § 2, 2° can, however, open up perspectives for development that is ecclesiologically more coherent by assuming the distinction between decision-making and decision-taking. |
