| Summary, etc. | En 2021, le gouvernement du Québec a modifié considérablement la législation relative à la protection des renseignements personnels. En effet, il a adopté, en septembre 2021, la loi modernisant certaines dispositions en matière de protection des renseignements personnels. Il a par ailleurs adopté en juin 2022 le Règlement sur la gestion des incidents de confidentialité. Nous verrons dans cet article quelles sont les principales dispositions modificatives dont les dates d’entrée en vigueur s’échelonnent sur 3 ans, soit en septembre 2022, 2023 et 2024, ainsi qu’un tableau comparatif entre la gestion des incidents de confidentialité selon la loi du Québec et la gestion des violations de données selon le RGPD. |

| Summary, etc. | In 2021, the Government of Quebec significantly amended the legislation relating to the protection of personal information. In September 2021, it adopted the Act to modernize certain provisions as regards the protection of personal information. In June 2022, it also adopted the Regulation on the management of privacy incidents. We will see in this article what are the main amending provisions whose effective dates are spread over 3 years, namely September 2022, 2023 and 2024, as well as a comparative table between the management of privacy incidents under the Quebec Act and the management of data breaches under the GDPR. |
