| Summary, etc. | Cet article a pour but de clarifier les relations entre l’ambiance et le paysage. Il part tout d’abord du postulat que le paysage comme dépaysement et vue à distance s’oppose à la dimension ambiancielle impliquant l’absorption totale des individus dans ce qui les entoure. Puis il montre en quoi le paysage contient néanmoins une forme de participation ambiancielle, en se basant sur le paysage romantique ou chinois, et il en vient finalement à distinguer l’ambiance immersive et non esthétique de toute expérience paysagère. |

| Summary, etc. | This article aims to clarify the relationship between ambiance and landscape. It starts from the assumption that landscape as a change of scenery and a view from a distance is opposed to the ambiental dimension, which implies the total absorption of individuals in their surroundings. It then shows how landscape nevertheless contains a form of ambiental participation, based on the Romantic or Chinese landscape, and finally comes to distinguish the immersive and non-aesthetic ambiance of any landscape experience. |
