Les projections onusiennes – qui évaluent la population mondiale à 11,2 milliards en 2100 – pourraient être surestimées. En effet, la fécondité pourrait baisser plus rapidement et l’espérance de vie augmenter de manière moins importante que prévu. Le Sahel connaîtra l’explosion démographique la plus spectaculaire mais ce phénomène n’engendrera pas nécessairement une vague migratoire massive vers l’Europe. |
