| Summary, etc. | Dans cet article, il s’agit d’analyser les trajectoires individuelles de différents segments des communautés zaghawa du Darfour. Nous nous interrogeons sur leur place dans la construction de l’alliance hégémonique islamiste en étudiant l’évolution des conjonctions d’intérêts entre ces groupes et le mouvement islamique, et ce spécialement dans les dispositifs économiques. Cela permet de comprendre leur délitement au cours des années 1990 et le rapprochement des segments qui conduit à leur réunion dans une opposition commune au régime et leur soutien à la rébellion au Darfour. |

| Summary, etc. | Understanding the War in Darfur : The Role of the Changing Alliances of the Islamic MovementThis paper examines the formation of Islamists’ hegemony by shedding light on the alliances they constructed with specific segments of the Sudanese society. More specifically, it aims to provide an analysis of the alliances’ formation with members of the Zaghawa-Darfurian ethnic community, with a special focus on economic activities. I will argue that changes in the alliances -induced by the Islamists’ rise to power-explain why different groups within the Zaghawa ethnic community are now supporting the rebellion in Darfur. |
