520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. The theory of attachment represents a general theoretical framework for understanding human relationships throughout life and notably during the adaptation to situations of separation. Although the first types of relationship generally occur during life and notably when couples are formed, the continual experiences with a partner - characterised by its own type of attachment and an important figure of attachment, provoke the updating of the internal representation (active internal image). The type of attachment of each partner therefore influences the nature of the relationship of the couple. The present article describes the different types of attachment of individuals and couples and attempts to apprehend what binds two people, the expectations of a relationship, the capacity to create a close and intimate relationship and on the other hand to define/understand the elements that lead to conflicts, those that destroy the relationship and those which characterise the process of separation.
