Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | The aim of this article is to tackle the issue of poverty in its spatial dimension. Thanks to a comparision of three urban areas of different shapes, i.e. Lyon, Lille and Marseille, we will show, first of all at a council level, that the concentration places of the low-income populations are very steady through time. At the basic level of the district, we will bring to the fore polarization spaces of the populations according to their income, on the three cities and the existence of mix zones that are often central. The results lead towards a more important concentration of the low-income populations in the polycentric cities of Marseille and Lille, raising the question of the ability of centrality to reduce town segregation. |
