| Summary, etc. | RésuméCet article se propose d’analyser les conséquences conceptuelles et existentielles qu’un contexte défini en termes de flexibilité accrue produit sur la notion de profession. Alors que les conséquences existentielles s’envisagent à partir des modifications dans le processus identificatoire que l’individu entretient avec sa tâche, les conséquences conceptuelles posent à l’analyste du monde social la question de la pertinence des catégories dont la traduction réelle peut se trouver amoindrie par l’instabilité et l’hétérogénéité des situations. Nous serons ainsi amenés à discuter des apories de l’approche classique des « professions » pour poser ensuite quelques jalons pour une nouvelle appréhension de la notion de profession, utilisables dans une recherche qui veut faire de cette dernière un élément médiateur de l’articulation entre travail et famille. |

| Summary, etc. | This paper intends to analyze conceptual and existential consequences of flexibility on the notion of profession. Existential consequences will be investigated through potential modifications of the identification process that the individual has with his tasks. Conceptual consequences concern the pertinence of category of profession in sociology, in order to analyze work and the labor field. As this category is less empirically translatable, they may lose their conceptual strength. We will discuss some of the problems encountered by classical approaches of professions, in order to propose some elements to construct a notion that is usable in a concrete research about the work /family issue. |
