| Summary, etc. | The domaine of youth protection: the enrichment of practices by the theory of attachmentThis paper presents the core issues of attachment theory which are particularly relevant to the enrichment of the practice in the field of child protection. Main clinical applications are described: Disorganized attachment, the paradox of maltreatment and attachment relationship, links between attachment insecurity and psychopathology, and the issue of whether to maintain or interrupt the relationship between a child and his/her “inadequate” parents. This paper underlines the importance of assessment and the involvement of the institutions in the therapeutic process. |
