| Summary, etc. | Resumé À partir de la grille d’évaluation, version informatisée, des capacités de communication des patients atteints de démence de type Alzheimer de Rousseau (GECCO), l’objectif de cette recherche est de dresser un profil communicationnel des malades selon leur lieu de vie. L’étude inclut 20 patients atteints de la maladie d’Alzheimer au stade léger ou moyen vivant en institution ou à domicile. Elle montre une différence qualitative de la communication selon le lieu de vie et souligne également l’intérêt, pour les aidants et les professionnels de santé, de bénéficier d’informations sur les moyens de s’adapter aux troubles de communication des malades. |

| Summary, etc. | Alzheimer patients’ communication profile with respect to their living status: preliminary results of an exploratory study using GECCOUsing the computerised version of the Communication Capacities Scale for Alzheimer Disease developed by Rousseau (GECCO), we tried to delineate the patients’ communication profile with respect to their living status (home versus senior centres). The study includes 20 patients suffering from Alzheimer disease at a mild to moderate stage and living in institution or at home. Results show a qualitative difference in communication performances according to the place where patients were living. It stresses the relevance for Health professionals to take into account clinical information, gathered with the standardised procedure using GECCO, on the level of the patients’disturbances of communication and on the means to adjust to them. |
