Summary, etc. |

Summary, etc. | Sexual abuse in adolescence: a possible destiny for hyperactivity ? This article presents the results of research about the clinical work and psychopathology of adolescent perpetrators of acts of sexual agression who were encountered in the framework of court-ordered appraisals. Beyond the diversity of their psychic organisations which extend from variations of the normal to the limits of psychosis, including psychopathy and borderline personality troubles, one clinical componant is present in three-fourths of the cases: these subjects were unstable children suffering from agitation or hyperactivity. The author tries to explain, from a psychodynamic viewpoint, how infantile hyperactivity, conceived as a perceptivo-motor and behavioral option in the face of difficulties in dealing mentally with instinctual excitations, constitutes a risk factor for sexual agression at adolescence. The notion of phallic narcissism makes it possible to shed light on identificatory impasses and difficulties these people have in dealing with the mutuality of desires. Violent sexual acting-out in subjects who had been agitated children, takes the place at adolescence of a faulty psychic elaboration of the relation to the other. Court-ordered appraisals help us avoid trivializing these acts and they offer a psychological approach, supported by judicial scaffolding. |
