| Summary, etc. | RésuméÀ l’époque de la mondialisation, les entreprises japonaises doivent faire face à une concurrence économique toujours plus grande sur le marché. Les conditions de travail des employés japonais sont de plus en plus astreignantes, les pressions psychosomatiques en relation avec la rentabilité du travail sont de plus en plus fortes, ce qui entraîne notamment des « dépressions liées au travail » et l’augmentation du taux de suicide, dont ceux reconnus comme accidents du travail. Après un aperçu du contexte historique et socio-culturel, l’auteur aborde les caractéristiques cliniques, puis la psychopathlogie de la dépression liée au travail, à partir des concepts de « phase d’ouverture » et de « phase de repli ». Les aspects thérapeutiques sont ensuite évoqués. |

| Summary, etc. | Work-related depression in Japan at the time of globalisation Since 1998 suicidal behaviors in Japan are marked with a continuous increase reaching more than 30,000 suicides/year. More specifically cases qualifying for workers’ compensation as a result of psychiatric disorder or suicide behavior related to overwork, are increasing. This phenomenon should be understood in the context of globalisation which put pressure on work efficiency and schedules. The paper offers a psychopathological perspective on work-related depression, using concept of “phase of openness” and “phase of retreat” before exploring treatment options. |
