| Summary, etc. | Ce texte rend compte des luttes menées par les féministes algériennes en vue d’obtenir des lois égalitaires. Le Code de la famille – promulgué en 1984 – attribue un statut inférieur aux femmes. À travers leurs associations, les féministes algériennes rejettent ce code en s’appuyant sur la Constitution algérienne qui stipule l’égalité entre tous les citoyens et les droits universels. Ce combat est mené contre le régime algérien et contre les islamistes qui revendiquent des lois inspirées de la chari’a. Être citoyenne, c’est revendiquer les mêmes droits pour les femmes et les hommes, dans un État de droit qui promeut la justice sociale, l’égalité devant le droit et l’indépendance de la justice. |

| Summary, etc. | Algerian Women, Full citizens?This paper reports on the struggles of Algerian feminists to obtain equal treatment within the law. The Family Code, adopted in 1984, clearly attributes to women an inferior status. Algerian feminists, through their associations, reject this Code which is in contradiction with the Algerian Constitution, stipulating equality and universal rights among all citizens. This fight is directed both against the Algerian regime and the Islamists claiming laws inspired by Shari’a. Being a citizen is not only fighting for equal rights between women and men but also for a state promoting social justice, equality before the law and the independence of the judiciary. |
