Nous élaborons finalement une nouvelle approche de ces concepts, basée sur le respect de la diversité ethnique, sociale, culturelle et religieuse des peuples de la région. |

| Summary, etc. | Fragmented CitizenshipThe main aim is to show both the complexity of the mental images of the different terms (citizen, citizenship, and secularism) used in the Middle-East and their implication on the Palestinian life. Then, we demonstrate the progressive changes in the perception of these terms during the last 50 years and the influence of religion on that. Finally, we present a new approach that could help to overcome these difficulties and to respect the racial, social, cultural, and religious diversity of the people living in the region. |
