Summary, etc. |

Summary, etc. | The paradigm of inclusion or the society of singularities as a horizonThe notion of inclusion indicates a novelty that seems to overlap with some sociological work on the “society of singularities”. Thinking in an inclusive society provides an opportunity to reconsider democratic equality in the light of the uniqueness of each of its members. This article aims to combine this sociological research on equality with Levinas’ philosophy on otherness. The notion of integration as assimilation of otherness will be replaced by that of inclusion in the service of a quest for a common humanity. Reversing the anteriority of identity over otherness, the tendencies towards homogenization and identitarism are revisited to guide paths that think of diversity as the leaven of our production of the common. |
