520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Blazon of a bodyThe author develops the psychopathology of anorexia nervosa by considering this pathological state from a psychodynamic point of view. The text summarises the typical clinical paradoxes of this affection: the patient letting herself starving to death and still having a big appetite to live. He too insists on the exhibitionist dimension of this body made thinner, shown to neutralize the other one and to control the relation in other produced by the obsession of loss of weight leading to dysmorphophobia. The anorexic patient exercises a control over her body, idealized and purified, in order not to be subjected any more to the juvenile drive. The relation to the mother crystallizes in a dual relation from which the father is excluded. The physical hyperactivity allows evacuating the tensions while serving the loss of weight. The splitting operates a radical cut between the body and the thought. |
