520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Is the concept of psychopathy consistent ? Neurological bases and moral responsibilityWhile many psychiatrists consider psychopathy as a coherent scientific construction, a number of clinicians and philosophers reject its relevance, identifying it as simple means of social control. To clarify this debate, the study should focus on the issues of the neurological bases and moral responsibility related to psychopathy. Neuroscience claims to identify a number of disorders in the psychopath. Moreover, action theory and ethics defend more and more frequently the idea of the moral irresponsibility of the psychopath. However, rather than reinforcing the concept of psychopathy, neuroscience seems to highlight its many theoretical dead-ends. By speculating on the moral responsibility of psychopaths, philosophy seems, on the other hand, to be engaged in meaningless ethical debates.
