| Summary, etc. | Des perturbations la réponse neuro-immuno-endocrinienne ont été documentées au cours d’épisode dépressif majeur, suggérant que la dépression pourrait s’accompagner d’un état inflammatoire chronique. L’élévation de certains marqueurs de l’inflammation au cours d’épisode dépressif, la comorbidité fréquente entre certaines maladies inflammatoires et la dépression, et l’induction d’état dépressif après traitement par cytokine constituent des preuves de cette association. L’association réponse inflammatoire - troubles dépressifs n’est cependant pas retrouvée de manière constante. Le rôle étiologique éventuel de ces phénomènes inflammatoires et leur place physiopathologique commencent à être étudiés avec précision et pourraient conduire au développement de nouvelles thérapeutiques dans la dépression. |

| Summary, etc. | A growing number of evidence indicate that inflammatory process play a role in the pathogenesis of depression. Elevated levels of pro-inflammatory cytokinesobserved in major depressive disorder, induction of depressive symptomatology with cytokine treatment, and co-occurrence of MDD with inflammatory illnessesillustrate the link between inflammation and major depressive disorder. However, the association of inflammatory markers with depression isonly find in a subset of patients. The role of inflammation processes in the pathophysiology of depression need to be clarified in future works. These investigations could lead to the development of new effective treatments. |
