| Summary, etc. | RésuméL’auteur s’interroge sur les causes de l’aggravation des violences antisémites dans un pays où depuis la Révolution française, malgré des poussées de fièvre manifestes comme l’affaire Dreyfus, les Juifs ont inventé un modèle de vie en diaspora en s’intégrant pleinement à un État-nation à la logique universaliste. Une hypothèse majeure est mise en avant ici. La « communautarisation par le bas et par le haut » engagée depuis une vingtaine d’années par les pouvoirs publics porterait atteinte aux milieux juifs obligés désormais de se concevoir comme les autres communautés organisées en privilégiant les logiques de négociations ou d’affrontements horizontaux au détriment des traditionnels liens verticaux avec l’État. Cette perte de centralité fragilise leur statut et les rend plus vulnérables. |

| Summary, etc. | The author of this article explores the causes of the aggravation of anti-Semitic violence in France, a country where – despite outbreaks of nationalist fever such as the Dreyfus affair – the Jewish community has invented for itself a model of a Diaspora living in complete integration in a nation state characterized by a universalist ideology. A central hypothesis is put forward. The encouragement of « communitarian construction from the bottom and from the top » by public authorities over the past 20 years has impacted Jewish society, forcing it increasingly to conceive of itself as an organized community among others. In this context, the logics of collective negotiation and confrontation with other communities have replaced the traditional vertical links between individuals and the state. |
