| Summary, etc. | The “Grande Cause de la santé mentale” [Great Cause of Mental Health] announced in France for 2025 can be welcomed as a tool for raising people’s awareness about mental disorders. However, the technocratic precepts of “management”, “governance” and “coordination”, associated to a fearsome obsession with “screening” and “entry into a pathway” via authoritarian recommendations, contradict references to the recovery paradigm. Yet numerous institutional experiences confirm the importance of the empowerment, not only of those being cared for or accompanied, but also of helpers and carers. If it fails to place relational care time and co-empowerment at the heart of a mental health policy, the “Grande Cause 2025” will be doomed to feed the structural confinism rooted in the workings of French health agencies, evidenced during the health crisis of 2020-2022, with its mental effects so destructive for youth and society as a whole. |

| Summary, etc. | La Grande Cause de la santé mentale annoncée pour 2025 peut être saluée en tant qu’outil de sensibilisation sur les troubles psychiques. Cependant, les préconisations technocratiques de « pilotage », « gouvernance », et « coordination », avec l’inquiétante obsession du « dépistage » et de l’« entrée dans un parcours » balisé, via des recommandations autoritaires, contredisent les références au paradigme du rétablissement. De multiples expériences institutionnelles confirment pourtant l’importance de la restauration du pouvoir d’agir, non seulement des personnes soignées ou accompagnées, mais aussi des personnes aidantes et des personnes soignantes. À défaut de porter le temps relationnel des soins et le co-empowerment au cœur d’une politique de santé mentale, la « Grande Cause 2025 » serait vouée à nourrir le confinisme structurel ancré dans le fonctionnement des agences et « autorités » sanitaires, attesté (evidenced) lors de la crise sanitaire de 2020-2022, avec ses effets mentaux si délétères pour la jeunesse et la société tout entière. |
